Setting Up Low Stock Notifications

Proactively manage your inventory and prevent stockouts with eHub Ship's Low Stock Notifications. This feature allows you to set inventory thresholds and receive email alerts when any product’s available quantity drops below your defined limit.

This guide covers:

  1. Setting an account-wide default threshold
  2. Setting product-specific thresholds
  3. Opting in to receive low inventory email alerts

1. Set a Default Low Stock Threshold (Account-Wide)

Apply a default low inventory alert threshold across all products in your account.

  1. From the left-hand menu, navigate to Settings
  2. Under the INVENTORY section, click on Configurations
  3. In the Default Low Inventory Threshold (Optional) field, enter your general alert quantity (e.g., 25)
  4. Click Save

Any product will be flagged as "low stock" when its available quantity falls below this number—unless a product-specific threshold is set.

2. Set a Product-Level Low Stock Threshold

Use this to override the account-wide threshold for specific, high-priority products.

  1. Go to Inventory > Products
  2. Search for and select the product
  3. In the Locations tab, scroll down to SKU Low Inventory Threshold (Optional)
  4. Enter your desired value (e.g., 40)
  5. This threshold will now take precedence for this product

3. Opt-In to Email Notifications

Thresholds enable tracking, but users must opt in to receive alerts.

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Settings > Users
  2. Select your user profile
  3. Under Email Notifications, check the box for Low Inventory
  4. In the Notification Email field, enter the email address for receiving alerts
  5. Click Save

What the Email Looks Like
You’ll receive a summary email with:

  • Current quantity
  • Committed quantity
  • Units sold in the last 30 days
  • A distinction between newly low items and those already flagged
